Who Qualifies To Get A Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.

Applications are now open and will shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant will have to satisfy the following criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home that has a combined gross domestic income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined family money isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and wish not post any 2025 nsfas application evidence of income.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens my nsfas and permanent people from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored in their South African ID.

NSFAS read more only funds individuals who are learning or plan to research at a public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
